Applicant Privacy Notice
How we handle the information you send us when you apply for a job. Last updated 29 September 2026.
Who we are
KL Technology Business Solutions ("we", "us"), Kingston, Jamaica, is the data controller for the information you submit through our careers pages. Questions about this notice or your data can be sent to info@kltechnologybusinesssolutions.com.
What we collect
- Your name, email address, phone number and where you're based
- Whether you're able to work in Jamaica, your availability, and how you heard about us
- Your résumé/CV, any links you provide (LinkedIn, portfolio, GitHub) and any note you write
- Notes our hiring team makes during the recruitment process
We don't ask for your date of birth, photograph, marital status, TRN, or other sensitive information when you apply. Please leave these out of your résumé.
Why we use it
Only to assess your suitability for the role you applied for, to contact you about your application, and to make hiring decisions. We process your information with your consent and because it's needed to consider entering into an employment contract with you. We don't sell your information or use it for marketing.
Who can see it
Only the people at KL Technology involved in hiring. Your application is stored in a private, password-protected area of our website hosting account with Bluehost, whose servers are located in the United States. We receive an email alert when you apply, but your résumé and contact details are not included in it. Our hosting provider processes data on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.
How long we keep it
- If you're not hired: we delete your application 6 months after you applied.
- If you ticked "keep my application on file": we keep it for 12 months from the date you applied, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner at any time.
- If you're hired: your application becomes part of your employee record.
Your rights
Under the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020 you can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, withdraw your consent, or ask us to delete it. Email info@kltechnologybusinesssolutions.com and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Office of the Information Commissioner (Jamaica).
Security
Applications are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored in an access-controlled system that only our hiring team can sign in to.
